Point Lookout by Boat1053 viewsPoint Lookout looks like an island. The land around the lighthosue had more vegetation (trees) back in 1979. The turbulent waters at the confluence of the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River confirm the need for a lighthouse to warn mariners.

1032 viewsThe interior walls are in bad shape. Some of the damage has been caused by vandals, however, other areas were opened up as part of a structural evaluation prior to the 2002 rennovation. The brick in the old part of the lighthouse is 14" thick.
